Do you ever think about the life cycle of your clothes?
Who made your clothes? Where did they come from? What happens to them when you’re finished wearing them? The clothes we put on our bodies and the food we eat come come from the same system - our agricultural system. We know this in theory and we're working toward making this connection stronger. By recycling unwanted clothes into new designs, we aim to divert unnecessary waste from landfills while simulteanously giving back to local food systems.

Ericka Leigh is an artist, entrepreneur, and sustainability advocate. In 2016, she founded Sewn Apart, an environmentally and socially conscious fashion forward accessory company whose flagship product is a bowtie. The bowtie is in honor of her grandfather, and serves as a power accessory for women building confidence and charisma.

We think some conversations are easier to have through art than someone talking at you, so we use our fabric scraps to create social commentary tapestries.
